Viola Lessons
Viola Lessons for All Ages

What a lesson typically looks like:
I usually start with scales and warm ups, next hear what a student has worked on, then offer encouragement and correction where necessary.
We go over what to focus practice on, and how to practice.
Finally, I ask the student if they have any questions or techniques they want to work on this week.

Tone
I can help you create the deep mellow tone unique to the viola.
Developing a mellow, deep tone takes time practice, and heart. Using books including the Suzuki for Viola books, Mazas, and Josephine Trott's double-stop books, we can help you develop increible control of your bow.
Vibrato
Helping you with a warm, artistic vibrato
The key to comfortable vibrato in learning finger independence and control, and then learning to mix different speeds and widths of vibrato.
