Cello
Beginning Lessons for Cello for All Ages
Correct Left Hand Position
To reduce stress to the body, it is important to develop a relaxed left hand position. The thumb should be behind the neck of the cello, on the left side of the neck, and the thumb should be closer to the second and third finger of the hand. It should all feel like holding a water bottle.
String Crossings and Tone
Learning to control the bow and get it to the string you want takes time, and practice. I can help you learn the balance of the bow, and how to control the pressure of your hand on the bow.
